Monday Mantra: "Have confidence in your voice"

Monday, 31 August 2015

Have confidence in your voice. Value your words and the message behind them. Be honest with yourself and others. ❤️ I know there are times when I need the reminder to express my concerns, to pause and say "No" or to share something that has been weighing on me. Have confidence in your voice, choose your words wisely and act with positive intentions.

I'm a very easy going girl and I can be a quick "Yes" person. Lately I've been working on taking a moment, a day or even a week to pause and evaluate the situation before sharing my response. This has helped me to remain in control of the circumstances, for the most part, and to feel confident that I'm valuing my time and energy. This is a great example of self care. Own your energetic and physical space, keep it sacred and have confidence in your voice that you can make a change when necessary.

For my mommies who are expecting, I think this is one of the ultimates when choosing a provider and deciding where and how you'd like to give birth. You have a voice ❤️ It is important that you do your research. Education is one of our most powerful tools. Your voice matters before, during and after your birth your baby. Don't forget that my warrior mommas.  A list of some of my favorite books is on my website.

Holding our mantra of having confidence in your voice is extremely important in the 4th trimester, the first few months after baby is born. This time in your life is about healing, connecting to baby in a new way, adjusting to this new family life and sharing love and tears. It is a highly charged few months (or even year) and one where a new mom needs to take great care of her physical, emotional and mental well being. Now more than ever, mom must recognize her voice. Many partners know that when Momma Bear is protecting her cub, look out! Most of the time, mom can confidently and clearly communicate her needs. Sometimes we're in the newborn fog and can't see straight enough to put our shirt on the right way... Sometimes we need a little help. Mommies, it's ok to ask for help...

So, for my clear headed or sleep deprived Momma Bears...

Here's to a great week ahead full of confidence... #youvegotthis
